Each year, Group Training Northern Territory (GTNT) conducts its annual Darwin awards to recognise the wonderful contribution and achievements of apprentices, trainees, supervisors and employers. These awards are designed to identify and reward their efforts which are above and beyond that which is expected. So the winners are:
The Today’s
Skills: Tomorrow’s Leaders (TSTL) program - a week-long career development
initiative brings together 20 of
The
apprentices are employed by group training organisations and are regarded as
emerging leaders in their chosen fields. They are completing apprenticeships and
traineeships in industries including engineering, information technology,
hospitality, automotive, plumbing, electrotechnology, bricklaying, construction
and business.
The TSTL
program is conducted on campus at the Australian Institute of Sport (AIS) and
provides for an intense week of leadership training under the expert eye of Ian
Hutchinson of Life by Design.
During the
week, the apprentices and trainees will visit Parliament House to discuss a
range of issues affecting
The group
will meet with the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Education, Employment
and Workplace Relations, Julia Gillard, Leader of the Opposition, Malcolm
Turnbull, Minister for Employment Participation, Senator Mark Arbib, Minister
for Housing and Minister for the Status of Women, Tanya Plibersek,
Parliamentary Secretary for Education, Jason Clare, and Shadow Minister for
Employment Participation, Training and Sport, Dr Andrew Southcott.
