Our partner organisation is proud of the fact that they are a locally owned motor dealership that has been operating since May 1988 in Alice Springs to give Territorians the opportunity to receive the best in motor vehicle products and service. A main contributor to the group’s success and longevity is their standing in the community as an honest and reputable dealer that will go out of their way to meet their customers’ requirements.

They are not just a great place to buy and service your next new car - they have a great deal more to offer. With that said, they are keen to employ 4 – 6 Apprentices to begin a Certificate III in Automotive Mechanical Technology (Light Vehicle) for 2012.

  • GTOs employ over 40,000 apprentices and trainees throughout Australia so you have access to the largest employer network of apprentices and trainees.
  • GTOs can organise apprenticeships and traineeships wherever you are, in both city and regional areas in all states and territories.
  • GTOs place apprentices and trainees with a range of small and large host businesses who provide on the job training so with a GTO you have more choice and opportunities.
  • GTOs ensure you receive all your entitlements and they monitor your progress, offering support as you need it.

  • Staffing is flexible to help small business meet peak workloads & seasonal fluctuations.
  • GTNT source Government rebates & incentives for host employers.
  • "Hassle free" approach allows you to develop & grow your business.

  • Importantly you are not locked into a long term training contract. Apprentices and trainees can be changed and moved to suit your business needs.

4. What are my Responsibilities when I take on an Apprentice/Trainee?

  • Go through the induction information with the GTNT and the apprentice or trainee.
  • Work with GTNT to ensure that:
    • the workplace has the range of work and facilities required for your training.
    • there is an acceptable number of tradespeople or qualified persons in the workplace.
    • you will be adequately supervised when you are in the workplace.
    • work with your apprentice or trainee and GTNT to draw up the training plan.
    • deliver training to your apprentice or trainee as required in the training plan.
    • ensure your apprentice or trainee is adequately supervised in the workplace.
    • carry out an induction and all other obligations required of an employer, including those related to safety and fair treatment
    • release your apprentice or trainee from work duties to participate in training delivered by the supervising registered training organisation, as outlined in the training plan

  • We provide ongoing support to make sure everything runs smoothly.
  • You have the flexibility to meet peak workloads and seasonal variations without the worries of long-term contracts.
  • You get quality apprentices and trainees with GTNT’s proven performance.

7. Does that mean I can choose to have an Apprentice or Trainee for only as long as I need them?

  • Yes. GTNT offers the flexibility that direct employment can’t. If your business requirements change and you find the apprentice or trainee is no longer needed then with GTNT you can make changes.

8. If I use GTNT do I still receive the Government incentive payments for taking on an Apprentice or Trainee?

  • Yes. You still receive the benefit of Australian Government incentive payments. GTNT will either pass these incentive payments directly on to host employers or they will use these payments to lower their charge out rate (the cost of using their services).

9. Who monitors the Apprentice or Trainee’s training progress?

  • GTNT staff work with apprentices and trainees to monitor their learning progress. They ensure the apprentice or trainee is on track to complete their qualification and is developing the skills needed to be successful in the workplace.

10. Is Group Training an affordable option?

  • Yes. If you calculate all the hidden costs of employing an apprentice or trainee (including your time and effort) and the experience and expertise that group training staff bring to the recruitment and ongoing management process then you’ll find group training delivers value for money.
