GTNT in Katherine

In December 2005 Group Training Northern Territory (GTNT) was approached by the NT Government to provide assistance with the support and management of Burridj Group Training’s Apprentice Employees on that company’s closure.

Mim Smith, a Katherine local, was appointed as the Coordinator for Group Training NT, to manage these apprentices and conduct GTNT’s business in the Katherine region.  As GTNT’s business grew, it was necessary to increase staff and another local, Kim Phillips was taken on as a part time Administrative Assistant.

We currently have 40 apprentices in training in Katherine, including School Based, Full time, Managed and DCIS (Government) Apprentices.  Our goal is to have 20% of Apprenticeship market in the Katherine Region, which is around 50 apprentices.

The GTNT Katherine Office is based at the Training Centre 19 Second Street.  We are currently based in a temporary office at the Training Centre, awaiting renovations on a spacious new office premises in the same building.
